Non-invasive Plug-and-Play Voltage Ripple Mitigating Circuit
领域
Electronics
Patent
IP00561

Key Problem and Market Opportunity

  • The global direct current (DC) power systems market generated $3,919.8 million in 2016. The DC power systems market was projected to reach $4,411.1 million by 2021 at a CAGR of 2.4%.
  • In DC power systems, low frequency voltage ripples may remain after passing a single-phase AC/DC converter.
  • The voltage ripples can cause extra thermal stress in power electronics devices. Particularly, the thermal stress reduces the life time of electrolytic capacitor in electronic applications such as LED and solar cell.
  • Conventional active power filters for removing the voltage ripples in DC systems requires hardware modification and they are expensive because of additional control systems. Therefore, it is uneasy to deploy the power filter without customizing an electronic application.
